POLICE are hunting two bearded men following a late night town centre attack on a 54-year-old man.

The victim had been out with friends in Lydney on Saturday (August 11) when he was set upon in a walkway near the town’s Co-op store around 11.45pm.

He had earlier been drinking in the Swan Public House and the Amigos Mexican Bar on the High Street.

A Gloucestershire Police spokeswoman said that when he left the Amigos Bar through the rear door into the car park, he was assaulted by two men in the walkway through Newerne Street car park and Forest Road near the benches.

She said: "The offenders were both white males. The first is aged between 35-40 years old, around 5ft 9ins tall and well built, with blonde hair and a short blonde beard.

"The second is aged between 35-40 years old, around 5ft 10ins tall, with dark hair and a dark beard and was wearing dark clothing."

Anyone who saw the assault or has any information that could help police with their enquires is asked to call 101 quoting incident number 32 of 12 August 2018.
