MR Summers's reply to my letter last week about the boar is not really logical.

The antecedents of the present infestation were only illegally released less than 10 years ago.

Just because they were once here is no reason to bring them back.

After all it is not all that many years since wolves roamed our islands. Do we really want packs of them running wild in the Forest?

What about dinosaurs if we go back far enough?

I have not suffered personally and I doubt if Mr. Summers has or he might be less in favour of these pests.

My heart goes out to those who have had their gardens and surrounding areas devastated.

There are now no natural  predators so numbers will continue to multiply if something isn't done.
