BRONWEN Davies is shaking a bucket in her attempt to climb Africa's highest mountain in aid of the Brandon Trust, which supports Gloucestershire people who have learning disabilities.
"I organised a number of fund-raising events around my home in Mitcheldean and received wonderful support from local people but I was still quite a long way short of my £3,700 target," she said.
So enterprising Bronwen decided that standing outside local supermarkets with a big sign and a bucket might just give her the last boost she needed and her instincts have paid off big time!
"Shoppers have been so generous that I have boosted my funds by around £1,500 and have collected over £4,000 so far," she said.
Now Bronwen, 34, a mother of two of Plump Hill, Mitcheldean, whose largest donation of £500 came from her local builders merchant Hale and Co, will be off next month to climb 19,685 to the top of Kilimanjaro in Tanzania.
