LITTLE Bryanna Pflug was captivated by the gathering of 11 traditional Welsh Mari Lwyd on a visit to Chepstow.
While many her age might have been scared by a huge horse’s skull towering over them, the three-year-old from Lydney was more than happy to get up close and say hello.
The gathering was part of the annual Mari Lwyd – or Grey Mare – and Wassail in Chepstow which brings together the ancient Welsh and English traditions.
This year was the 10th annual event, which is hosted by local border Morris side The Widders, and there was a record turn-out of the Grey Mares.
