ANDY Creese Butchers of Newent has been named "Butcher of the Year" for the second year in a row at the Cotswold Life Food & Drink Awards.
Around 380 guests including Prue Leith, Adam Henson, food writer Matthew Fort and chef Rob Rees, were at the awards.
Judges of the "Butcher of the Year" category said they were particularly impressed with 'the locally sourced products, the range of flavoured sausages and the friendly, helpful staff' at the Newent shop which has been trading since 1988.
"We're really chuffed to have won this award for a second year in a row, especially as we were up against some really strong competition," said Andy Creese. "It's a reflection of the continued hard work of my team and it's great to know that our customers appreciate the effort we put in to provide top class products as well as excellent service."
