THE popular Ross-on-Wye car boot at the Cattle Market has been taken over by a father and son team from Gloucester.

Bob Newby and his son Evan took over the management in Ross on Sunday and have been running the Gloucester car boot at Hempstead Meadows for the last two years; claiming to have trebled its turnover.

The site is owned by Richard Williams of RG & RB Williams, Auctioneers and Estate Agents in Ross.

“We plan to make Ross car boot the premier car boot in Herefordshire.”

The former managers, who have been at the site near Labels Shopping for 20 years, didn’t wish to comment.
