A BOY from Chepstow aged 16 was left with serious head injuries after he was attacked by two men in Lydney early on Saturday night (July 14).

Police are appealing for anyone who saw the incident in Church Road or anyone who knows anything about the attack to contact them.

The assault happened in Church Road between 1am and 3am and the victim was punched several times. He is currently recovering in Frenchay Hospital, Bristol.

Anyone who saw what happened or has any information about the assault should call Gloucestershire Police on 101, quoting incident 55 of July 14.

A 26-year-old man from Lydney has been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm in connection with the case and bailed to attend Gloucester police station on August 11, pending further inquiries.
