ENOUGH is enough! The Co-op now employing a PR company about road congestion – how ridiculous. The planning and the highways departments would have already seen that when the plans were first submitted and solutions found and dealt with if needed.

Let's see now when the Co-op first opened its new store in Cinderford what they were offering: Off licence, bakers, butchers, florist, newsagents, travel agents, greengocers as well as groceries. Did they care about the small shops in town or their big lorries going to their store? No way and now they have added the Post Office and a chemist.

Other towns around are thriving. Take Monmouth, they have Somerfields, Marks and Spencers and Waitrose (Co-op do not even come up to their ankles for quality and variety) This town is always busy because the people have choices and that is what Cinderford people need – the choice to shop where they want to in their town.

So come on Co-op, rise to the challenge of competition and let the new store come to town! – Mrs G Brooke, Coleford.
