POLICE have issued a warning to motorists in Cinderford to be vigilant in removing any valuables on view in their vehicles, following a series of break-ins in the Office Road area of the town.

A red MG ZR was targeted on the night of Thursday June 27, between 10pm and 6.45 the following morning, when the thief smashed the front passenger window and stole a grey fabric wallet containing a small amount of cash, cards and documents.

In a second night of thefts, two cars were interfered with on the night of Friday June 28, between 5pm and 9.30am the following day, when the unlocked door of a silver Land Rover Freelander parked on a driveway in Office Road was opened and the thief took baby clothes, a holdall and a CD player. In another incident on the same night a silver Rover parked in Victoria Street had its lock broken and an iPod Touch was taken.

Police have said that they are 'pursuing inquiries to try and identify the offender' and they have asked that anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity in the area during the times in question to call 101, quoting incident 49 of June 28.
