We see many letters in your Review about the Co-op fighting against different supermarkets coming into the Forest.

I was very surprised on visiting our Co-op in Lydney to find the area for food is less than half the shop space and we now have a new Brantano and Bon Marché both of which are in direct competition with shops currently on the High Street in Lydney

How does the Co-op manage to do this without our current shops raising objections?

Also is the Co-op trying to set up a shopping mall away from the High Street?  We already have empty shops, one of which has been empty for more than six years since the Co-op incorporated the Post Office into their supermarket.

I am confused as to who is running our High Street. Is it the Co-op or the council?

– Confused, Lydney.
