LYDNEY Festival organisers are celebrating after receiving a £1,000 grant from the Midcounties Co-operative Community Fund.

The festival, which was set up in 2002, will use the money to benefit next summer's events.

Spokesman Derek Biddle said: "This will a big boost to help with 2012 events for the Queen's jubilee, the Lydney Docks Festival and events associated with the London Olympics.

"The committee wish thank Midcounties for their support and for acknowledging our work in our community."
