AN art show to mark the first anniversary of Yorkley Community Centre will be held over a three-day weekend next month.

The New Green Hut Art Show will showcase the artistic talent of local artists, sculptors, photographers, crafts people, filmmakers, poets and musicians. Entry forms are available from local shops or at www.communitycentreyorkley.co.uk

Chair of the centre, Sharon Freeman said: "Anyone who remembers the 103-year-old village hall, affectionately known as the ’Green Hut’, will make the connection. The new community centre, which opened on April 18 last year, is also ’green’ in an eco-friendly way.

"The event will be held on April 15, 16 and 17 and local artists must reside in one of the four villages: Yorkley, Pillowell, Oldcroft or Viney Hill. However entries for the two minute film competition will be open to everybody.

"There will also be music workshops and craft demonstrations."
