ONE of the greats of opera will be beamed to an audience at the Drill Hall in Chepstow.
The production of Verdi's Nabucco featuring Placido Domingo at the Royal Opera House will have been recorded just a few days before it is shown at the Chepstow venue.
It is the first of a series of cultural events that will be shown at the hall in Lower Church Street.
The committee that runs the hall is even in negotiations to screen Sunday afternoon ballet live from Moscow later in the year.
The Drill Hall has become an important venue for the town since it was refurbished in the early 1990s.
It regularly has live theatre, talks and cinema but showing cultural events such as opera and ballet is a new departure.
The production of Nabucco will be screened at the hall on April 29.
The regular cinema shows continue this week with screening of the blockbuster Les Miserables starring Russell Crowe and Anne Hathaway on Friday and Saturday.
