THE driver of this Ford Fiesta car had a lucky escape after it rolled over and careered into a hedge on a bendy road.

Police said the incident happened shortly before 9.25pm on Saturday (September 28) near Newland on the road to Redbrook and no one had been physically hurt.

The car covered in police tape remained on its side stuck in the hedge on the Newland to Redbrook side of the road until it was removed on Monday.

Police said the crashed vehicle was the only one involved in the accident, which happened in rainy weather about a mile from Newland.

There were no signs of any skid marks on the road, but debris stuck in the hedge before where the vehicle finally came to rest indicated it had veered off the road and collided with the vegetation before rolling down the ditch.

The road between the two villages is bendy and narrow in places, and drivers sometimes encounter deer crossing it.
