POLICE are tracing two motorcyclists after a fence was broken between Cannop and Parkend where structural repair works is underway until October.

A site manager for Gloucestershire County Council said the damage to one of its fences near the Stone Works, along New Road, wouldn’t disrupt the job in hand.

Water bailiff officer for Yorkley Angling Club, Jan Norris said she witnessed the two motorcyclists rip the fence down in an attempt to drive their bikes through the area.

She said: “My husband and I were just leaving Cannop Pond when he noticed two motorcyclists demolishing fencing around the road works. I confronted them and they threatened to run me over. I can only assume they wanted to take their bikes through the area. We stayed afterwards to put the fences back and straighten them.”

Police say one of the motorcyclists was white, in his 20s, with blonde hair. One was driving a red Suzuki and the other a green Kawasaki.

Anybody with any information should call 101 quoting incident 421 of August 17. The break-in happened at 7.45pm.
