FLOOD warnings have been issued for the Wye Valley from Chepstow to Brockweir and at Ross.

The Environment Agency says flooding is expected in the low-lying Elmdale area at Chepstow and at Brockweir with immediate action necessary.

High tide is expected around 7.30am and 7.30pm tomorrow (Wednesday, January 3) with high tides continuing until Friday (January 5).

The A466 Monmouth to Chepstow road may have to be closed for a short time in Tintern at high tide tomorrow evening and on Thursday.

The road is expected to be shut between the George Hotel and Trellech Road between 8.45pm and 9.15pm on Wednesday and between 9am and 9.30am on Thursday.

A flood alert has also been issued for Ross with a warning that flooding is possible and local people should be prepared.
