PUMPS made by Coleford-based SPP Pumps are specified in the top tenders for a huge prestige marina development in Singapore.
Located along the Marina Bay waterfront, the Marina Bay Sands integrated resort features three 55-storey cascading hotel towers, a shopping mall, celebrity restaurants, theatres, convention facilities and a casino.
SPP Fire Pumps were offered for the Fire Protection System for this huge development by both fire contractors – Deluge Fire Protection (SEA) Pte Ltd and Guthrie Engineering (S) Pte Ltd.
"Although many pump manufacturers can offer equipment designed to the various locally applicable fire rules and regulations, SPP is one of the select few who have had their sprinkler and wet riser pumps subjected to the stringent performance and reliability tests of specialist fire approval laboratories," said a company spokesman.
A mix of SPP Fire Pumps were specified - with flows ranging from 750 to 2,000 gallons a minute.
Meanwhile workers at SPP have been holding a car wash to support the road safety charity Time and Place.
"We have made a total of £307, which the company has made up to £500," said a spokeman.
The company is holding an open day for prospective apprentices on May 14 – for details call Donna on Dean 832701.
