THE Children’s Opportunity Centre, in Coleford, has received £5,000 from the Screwfix Foundation.

Staff at the Ross-on-Wye branch chose to support the children’s charity which supports those who have a baby or young child with special needs or disabilities in the Forest of Dean.

The Screwfix Foundation aims to support projects to fix, repair, maintain and improve properties and facilities for those in need.

Caroline Jones, at the Children’s Opportunity Centre, said: “We are very grateful to the foundation for donating these much-needed funds to support our charity.

“The funding will be used to renovate the centre with new windows, a central heating system and a porch extension to accommodate a new wheelchair friendly access and reception area. We’d like to thank everyone who was involved in the fundraising – it’s been a great help to us.”

Gemma Motterham, manager at Screwfix, added: “Staff from across the business have held a variety of fundraising events to raise vital funds for the Screwfix Foundation, so it’s fantastic to see the money we have raised being invested back into such a worthwhile community project.”
