A COUPLE who celebrated their golden wedding anniversary on June 17 have been able to make donations to Great Oaks Hospice and the Friends of Lydney Hospital, thanks to the generosity of their friends.

Brian and Linda Woodroffe of Lydney gave a lunch party for family and friends to celebrate 50 years of marriage and, in lieu of gifts, guests made donations to be shared between the two local charities.

Linda said; “We were delighted to present a cheque for £125 each to the Great Oaks Hospice, and the Friends of Lydney Hospital. These two charities represent everything that is good about our town.”
