HANSON Formpave of Coleford has won a multi million pound deal to pave a prestigious golfing estate in Dubai, in what is thought to be the largest permeable paving contract in the world.
Over 250,000 square metres of Acquasett blocks will be needed for pathways, driveways, roads and car parks within the Jumeirah Golf Estates complex.
The Coleford company's system was chosen because it is very low maintenance and provides efficient flood prevention.
Steve Spikes, development director at Hanson Formpave, said: "We are extremely delighted to have won this contract and to be associated with this prestigious project. It is a very exciting time for us.
"This is a real achievement and testament to the hard work and efforts from our sales, design and production team. This installation in Dubai reflects the proven performance, versatility and durability of our permeable paving and SUDS solution."
The course is set to host the richest tournament in golf, the Dubai World Championship, this November.
