•A YORKLEY man who underwent an operation for a heart condition has abseiled 400ft to raise £1,400 for the British Heart Foundation.

David Rhodes said: “Two years ago I had an operation on my heart and to thank the charity for its support wanted to do an abseil fundraiser for them. So many people have physically handed me money so I want to thank them also for their support.”

The abseil took place at the National Abseil Centre in Northampton.
