THE trustees of The Chestnuts (Ross on Wye) Housing Association have announced the closure of The Chestnuts Home for the Elderly with 'great sadness and regret'.

The Chestnuts, a home with 30 residents, was set up as a not for profit charitable housing association on a 20 year lease from the local authority (now Herefordshire Council). The lease expires in September 2011 and renewal terms have not been agreed.
