STAFF at Howle Hill Nursery near Ross-on-Wye are celebrating this week after winning a prestigious gold medal at the 2016 RHS Malvern Spring Garden Festival.
Their garden, Japanese Reflection, explored the technique of Shakkei, which means ‘borrowed landscape.’
Managing director, Peter Dowle says: “The rolling Malvern Hills provided a stunning backdrop and the fabulous weather only contributed to the ambience and success of our garden.
“It has been a very busy few weeks with so much work going into the project - it’s just a shame it has to come down so quickly. This is our second show garden at Malvern and the second gold so we are delighted with the result. Our attention is now
focused on the Chelsea Flower Show, with a big main avenue garden under construction for cosmetic giants L’Occitane.” Peter already has 10 Chelsea medals to his name.
