IRONMASTERS Gym in Cinderford is celebrating reaching the final of the National Fitness Awards.
In just 15 months since opening, husband and wife team Tom and Kelly Bluett are hoping to scoop gold in the best new gym category.
The national awards are organised by leading fitness industry magazine Workout, and in each category up to seven finalists have been selected from hundreds of entries.
The gym will now be visited by a member of the National Fitness Awards team who will inspect the facilities, interview the manager and chat to members and staff before compiling a comprehensive report, which will then be passed on to an expert judging panel to choose the worthy winners.
They will be revealed at a glittering awards ceremony on Friday, December 4 at the Athena in Leicester, which will be hosted by fitness entrepreneur and TV personality Katie Bulmer-Cooke and Olympic swimmer and commentator Steve Parry.
Tom said: “Even getting this far is an amazing achievement and we feel really proud to have made it through to the finals. It’s awesome to be recognised nationally for all of the hard work that has gone into opening the gym and the first year of business. We’ve had a brilliant first year with membership numbers that have blown us away, so this nomination is the icing on the cake really.
“We’re really looking forward to going to the awards ceremony on December 4.”
