LYDNEY Park Estate provided the perfect backdrop to evoke the spirit of the Forest Musical Society’s latest production.

Lydney Town Hall will be converted into the fictitious Hareford Hall for the society’s new production of Me and My Girl.

Set construction is already underway for the show, which runs in the town hall from Thursday May 12 to Saturday May 14.

Elliott Burge, Chairman of Forest Musical Society, says: “With just a few weeks until the curtain opens, Viscount Bledisloe kindly gave us permission to have our publicity photos taken in the grounds of Lydney Park Estate.

“A great day was had by the cast who can be seen in costume getting into the spirit of the show as they gather at ‘Hareford Hall’. In the show this is the home of the new Earl of Hareford, Bill Snibson, the character I play.  With his cockney girlfriend Sally, played by Frankie D’Amato they try and settle in at the Hall with Bill’s new aristocratic family.

“Rehearsals are now entering their final stages and the cast are busy learning songs and dance routines.”

Me and My Girl enjoyed an eight-year run on London’s West End, collecting numerous awards along the way. Tickets are available from Crazy Occasions in Lydney, Fairways Furnishing in Coleford, Palace Cinema in Cinderford, online at www. forestmusicalsociety.co.uk or on the door.
