I READ with dismay the article in last week's Review about the 73 bus no longer running to Chepstow after September 12.

I live in Aylburton, and my optician and dentist are in Chepstow. I also like to shop in Chepstow at least a couple of times a week. I work at Taurus Crafts and a lot of people who work there use the 73 to get to work. A lot of these people have learning disabilities but work at Taurus and hold down a job, therefore being independent. If the 73 service stops, so will their jobs!

As Taurus is just outside Lydney it will suffer in visitor numbers also. I happened to be on the bus some months ago when a lady asked everyone to fill in a questionnaire.

"Oh no," we all replied, "don't say they are going to stop running the service?" "No," she said, "this is just a survey!"

There were mostly people coming or going from work on that bus, so what will they do if the service stops?

Not everyone is lucky enough to have the use of a car.

Another point is, how are people who live between Chepstow and Lydney supposed to get to Gloucester? Do we have to walk many miles to Lydney then catch the 73 from there?

Come on, Stagecoach and the council – think about it! We need the 73 bus to continue to Chepstow! – Susan Humphries, a 46 year-old non-driver, Aylburton.
