POLICE are investigating an incident in which a girl was asked to get into a car in Caldicot.

The secondary school pupil was walking along Firs Road when she was asked to get into a silver Ford Focus.

Gwent Police want to talk to the driver and occupants of an old-style Ford Focus of the type built between 1998 and 2004.

A Gwent Police spokesman said: “While this was distressing for the girl, we would like to stress that no-one was hurt and this appears to be an isolated incident as there have been no other reports of this nature in the area.”

Patrols have been stepped up in the area and officers are working closely with local schools.
