A FORMER postal sorting office could be demolished if new plans are approved.

Applicant Peter Barker, of 1, Railway Cottages, Station Lane, Longhope, says the largely wooden structure next door is rotting and he wants to replace it with hardwood timber gates.

The post office was run from 1, Railway Cottages, until April 2015 when change of use to a house was granted and postal services were relocated just yards away to Central Stores.

Longhope Parish Council has backed the plan to demolish the old sorting office, which will be decided by Forest planners.
