THE team at Rossiter Books have been shortlisted for The Bookseller's Independent Bookshop of the Year award.
The local business, which has shops in Ross-on-Wye and Monmouth, is one of 38 booksellers that have earned a spot on the regional shortlists and is in the running to be The Bookseller's Independent Bookshop of the Year.
The award, sponsored by wholesaler Gardners, seeks to highlight the best of bookselling and comes with a cash prize of £5,000.
Rossiter Books, one of six businesses shortlisted in the Midlands and Wales region, has been established as an independent bookseller in Ross since 2010 with the second branch opening in Monmouth in November 2011. Both shops stock a large and carefully selected range of titles and have an active and exciting events programme throughout the year, attracting bestselling authors and famous faces. Owners Andy and Victoria Rossiter say they are passionate about keeping bookselling alive on the high street and together with their team they aim to offer friendly and knowledgeable service.
All 38 shortlisted shops will now vie to win their respective regions, with winners announced on March 14. The regional winners then compete for the overall prize, which will be awarded at The Bookseller Industry Awards on May 12.
