MANY years ago I purchased a local history at the Forest Bookshop in Coleford. It was The Great Western Railway in the Dean by Harris Parr. He prints an almost identical photograph to the one on page eight of last week's Review.
He describes the picture as Peckett-built 0-4-0 works loco number 2013 at Whitecliff railhead after a run-away. She was stored there but did not work in the Forest. A similar little engine by Pecketts of Bristol can be seen at the Coleford GWR Museum.
