THE tables were once again heaving with produce at Soudley Village Hall where the annual Flower and Produce Show was held on a rainy Bank Holiday Sunday.

The Stanley Joiner Rose Bowl was presented to Ken Butt for the most points in the show. He also won the Village Cup for the Fruit and Vegetable section.

Runner-up Pete Smith also won The White Horse Inn Trophy for the best homemade wine.

Kathryn Wylde was once again the ‘domestic goddess’, winning the Bevan Trophy in the Domestic section. Helen Stanford won the Egg Cup and Jan Ward won the Ken Andrew Rose Bowl for the floral section. Anya Duberly won the Children’s Cup for the third time.

Show chairman, Jan Ward said: “The auction of the produce which followed raised £350 towards the upkeep of the village hall.”
