PRIMROSE Hill School this week hosted a big party of teachers from across Europe for a special conference on cooperation between educational establishments.

Head teacher David Richards said before the event his only worry was the fact that 17 guests were coming to his home for Sunday dinner and there were only 12 chairs in the house!

The Comenius Project has involved Primrose Hill's teachers for two years and has led to pupils from the schools working together. Although the present programme is coming to its end it is hoped many of these links will continue.

"Everything went very well on Monday," said a school spokesman. "Some of the teachers have stayed on and Mr Richards is taking them sightseeing."

The foreign teachers, from France, Italy, Norway, Tenerife and Turkey, stayed in Chepstow over the weekend.
