Nearly 500 people took part in the Sport Relief Mile at two of the area's historic locations.
The Old Station, Tintern and Caldicot Castle and Country Park, which are both run by Monmouthshire Council, were among the venues for the annual charity run.
There were 270 runners at Caldicot and 200 at Tintern with more than 50 people braving the six-mile course.
Among those taking part at Caldicot was Danielle Heath of Undy who was doing her first charity run in memory of her aunt, Lesley-Ann Barrett, a mother-of-three who died aged just 34.
Danielle said: "This is my first attempt and I want to raise as much money as possible."
She was joined by husband Chris and friends Peter Hewitt of Tutshill, Kath Mayo of Stroat, and Sally Williams of Chepstow who between them were hoping to raise around £1,000.
