POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a man was punched unconscious in an alleged rush hour road rage attack.

The incident which took place near the Pedalabikeaway Cycle Centre in Cannop around 7.40am on Friday, February 23, left a 20-year-old man with facial injuries and a cut to the back of his head.

A Gloucestershire Police spokesman said: "It’s believed that the victim was driving behind the offender’s car, and as they approached the Mireystock crossroads the offender stopped his vehicle and got out.

"The victim also got out of his vehicle and this is when an altercation started between the two.

"A female with brown hair got out of the offender’s car and separated the men. It’s thought that the offender went to walk off before he swore at the victim and punched him in the face, which left the man unconscious.

"The offender is described as a white male in his mid-20s who had light-coloured cropped hair.

He was of muscular build and was wearing a grey hoody and joggers. He is thought to be around 5ft 5 inches tall and was driving a blue/grey coloured car."
