THE LATEST addition at the Great Western Railway museum in Coleford is keeping it in the family for curator Mike Rees.
The 7.5-inch gauge locomotive that has been built by the museum's engineering team is named after Mike's mum, Maud, and is a companion loco to Victor which was named after his father.
He said: "My parents met on the platform at Coleford railway station – dad was a fireman on the trains and mum worked at the India and China Tea company in Parkend.
"He would let her ride on the footplate which he shouldn't have done."
Victor and Maud are among 12 miniature locomotives at the museum which also has a restored signal box, a full-size steam loco and other artefacts such as signs and documents.
It is open on Friday, Saturday and Bank Holidays between 2.30pm and 5.30pm
