A GOOD crowd of people supported this year's annual Summer Fair for Lydney Parish Church on Saturday.
The charity Forest Pulse, who the church were fundraising for, officially opened the event held at the Old Vicarage and St Mary's Church in Lydney.
There was a good line-up of family entertainment including balloon modelling, tombola and bouncy slide as well as music from Lakers School Steel Band, Air Training Cadet Band, and Lydney Training Band.
The fair saw its first-ever tug o' war event which featured Lydney Steel Band and Lydney Air Training Cadets against Lydney and Aylburton Scouts and Cubs.
A Stroud-based comedian, Tom Elliot, made the crowd laugh while people tucked into sweet treats and the popular barbecue.
Priest-in-charge of Lydney Parish, Rev Sarah Fenby said: "The weather was glorious and we had a good turnout by a cross-section of the community. The event was well-supported by a good range of local businesses."
The amount raised is yet to be finalised but will be split between Forest Pulse and the work of Lydney Parish in the community.
