ENGLAND fan Al Weiss and Welshman Neil Heaven may argue over whether Wales should have been awarded the try at Twickenham on Saturday – but they agreed that Great Oaks Hospice should benefit from the game.

Al, who owns Al’s Plaice fish and chip shop in Coleford and Neil from the nearby Angel Hotel came together to raise money for the Coleford-based hospice

Neil put on a specially-brewed beer from the Bespoke Brewing Company in Mitcheldean called Wenglish while Al gave out 150 trays of sausage, chips and curry sauce – with donations going to Great Oaks.

Al said: “There was a great atmosphere at The Angel and we must have raised more than £500.”

The Angel is running a raffle for Great Oaks until the end of the Six Nations tournament with prizes including a shirt signed by international referee Nigel Owens and tickets to a Gloucester RFC match.
