I WOULD like to answer the letter rom Mr Woodward regarding the question of unidentified cats reported in the Forest.
What I see I remember. While travelling through Hope Mansell at 9.45pm one Wednesday night three years ago a large black cat-like animal came down over a four foot high bank. It took one leap over the road and another over the opposite bank and hedging – about seven feet high.
On a Thursday night about 10 weeks ago I was travelling from Bream to Parkend. Just 80 yards from the junction to the Parkend road I saw a similar animal right in front of me. Five weeks later I saw another at Cannop cross roads.
I am 88 years old, not a fast driver and I don't drink or smoke. I have lived in the Forest all my life and I am not a liar! – A. Powell, Joy's Green, Lydbrook.
