C.A. SIMKIN states 'Tesco sucks the life-blood from every community ...'

They would have a job on their hands in Cinderford.

Nothing like a thriving community but now in terminal decline because shoppers are no longer attracted to the town. They go elsewhere.

Shoppers have deserted Cinderford in droves to travel to Gloucester, Ross, Monmouth and Lydney because they have a choice of competitive major supermarkets and national branded stores.

It is the shoppers who have decided that they prefer the freedom of choice on offer elsewhere rather than one major supermarket and a limited number of small independent shops which is all the town has to offer.

It is all too easy to blame Tesco but the fact is shoppers are now attracted by larger new shops.
