A LYDNEY church was broken into at the weekend.

Gloucestershire Police says it is appealing for witnesses following the break in at Lydney Methodist Church in Springfield Road between 8pm on Friday, December 16 and 7am the next day.

It’s understood unknown offenders forced open a ground floor window and made an untidy search of the premises causing distress and upset to all concerned.

It’s not known if anything was stolen.
