OUR four-legged friends will be strutting their stuff again at the third Forest Activities Festival fun dog show later this month.

Prettiest girl and most handsome boy are among the categories, so if you have the perfect pooch, why not enter them?

The family fun dog show is being organised by Forest of Dean Dog Rescue (FDDR) as part of the festival in the Speech House grounds on Sunday, April 23.

All proceeds from the show will go towards helping the work of FDDR, a community group dedicated to rescuing unwanted and abandoned dogs, which are given any medical treatment, vaccinated and neutered before being rehomed to carefully checked homes.

Categories for the dog show also include puppies under 18 months; seniors over seven years old; best rescue; best mismatched brace/pair of dogs of any breed or age; best junior handler 12 years and under; fancy dress.... dog or dog and owner as a themed pair; dog the judge would most like to take home; and best in show.

The person with the difficult job of judging the show is Tina Kemp of Clever Canines in Berry Hill, Coleford.

You can bring your pet pooch along and enter on the day. The dog show starts at 2pm with rosettes awarded for the best in each category.

FDDR will also bringing along some dogs who are looking for homes.
