A WALK in the woods turned into a nightmare for Clive Jones on Monday when a man snatched his 13 week-old puppy.
The little cocker spaniel named Buster was walking ahead of Mr Jones as he neared the end of a stroll along a Forestry Commission track at Plump Hill, Mitcheldean, shortly after midday on Monday.
" Buster was ahead and stopped as though he was waiting for me. Then a man jumped out of a white transit van which was parked nearby. He picked Buster up and immediately drove away," said Mr Jones who lives at nearby Mitcheldean.
"It happened very quickly and I was not able to get the number of the van," he said.
The dog, mainly black and white, has distinctive brown markings above his eyebrows.
Mr and Mrs Jones have since revisited the area and spoken to a number of local people.
Mr Jones added: "The puppy is very much a family pet. We have two children and they are going to miss him."
Anyone with information is asked to contact Mr Jones on Dean 541218. Police have been informed and there is an incident number; 214 of November 19.
