AN illegal rave could be heard as far as three miles away on Sunday morning.

Residents in Cinderford complained the rave, which attracted around 100 to 150 people, went on until at least 9am the following morning after a police helicopter was scouring Staple Edge Woods at 3am.

A spokesperson for Gloucestershire Police said: “Police were called in the early hours on Sunday to reports of an illegal rave. Police vehicles were unable to reach the location, so officers attended early the next morning in daylight and spoke to some of the attendees. Words of advice were given.”

A Cinderford resident added: “Although the rave was going on in woods bridging Ruspidge and Soudley it was clear to the ear in Cinderford at 3am.”
