THE victim of a dramatic mobility scooter crash is searching for her rescuers to thank them for their kindness.
Sonja Hitchcock of Bream was riding her new scooter up the hill past the Princess Royal estate carrying her 22 month-old daughter Annabel in her lap.
Her scooter overturned, trapping her arm underneath and leaving her helpless with her young child in her arms.
Mrs Hitchcock said: "My scooter tipped up backwards and the next thing I knew I was on the floor. It made such a terrible noise, like a car crashing, and the engine was still going because I couldn't reach up to turn the key.
"A schoolboy riding his mountain bike up the hill saw me, dropped his bike and ran back towards me. I have never seen anyone run so fast!
"He said 'What can I do?' and I got him to take my daughter."
A woman ran up the hill to help and freed Mrs Hitchcock from her scooter by releasing her arm.
Mrs Hitchcock was left with injuries on her elbow and finger and says her confidence has been severely shaken by the incident.
"How we weren't killed I don't know. If the scooter had tipped the other way we would have fallen into the road," she said.
"I would like to find the two angels who helped me so I can thank them. I might also need them to give evidence about what happened to the manufacturers so I can get a replacement scooter."
