NEWENT, Lydney and Cinderford libraries will have self service kiosks installed this month to enable customers to serve themselves.

The quick-serve kiosks will allow customers to borrow, renew and return items, check reservations and pay charges without waiting for a member of staff to assist them.

All of the libraries will also get a smaller counter.

In addition, Newent library will also have an improved computer area to give more space to customers using the computers, including small groups of learners.

Newent will be closed to Saturday February 25 for the improvements to take place. The library will re-open on Monday February 27.

The police point at Newent library will not be affected by the closure. There will be temporary access to the police point at the side of the library.

Lydney and Cinderford libraries will not close and the installations will take place between Tuesday February 28 and Thursday March 1.

During the closure of Newent library, books and other items can be returned to any other Gloucestershire library or renewed via the customer contact centre on 0845 230 5420.
