SEVERN Advanced Motorcyclists has been voted the best motorcycle club in Britain and Northern Ireland by the Institute of Advanced Motorists.
Severn Advanced Motorcyclists (SAM) covers the whole of Gloucestershire, Monmouthshire and surrounding areas and won the prestigious award ahead of over 200 other bike clubs associated with the Institute of Advanced Motorists (IAM).
Chairman Peter Craddock said: "This is a real pat on the back for the club which dedicates its time improving riding standards in a friendly atmosphere.
"The £1,000 prize will be used to improve the club further by helping more motorcyclists to become better riders."
Chris Harrison, Gloucestershire Road Safety Partnerships' Motorcycling Safety Coordinator, congratulated them on their achievement and said: "It's great that a local group have earned this award for their hard work in promoting safer riding and road safety whilst displaying a positive image for motorcycling."
