THIS week’s visit to the Co-op in Coleford has left me very happy.

I only ever pop in if I need the odd essential and to see what they have on offer and/or reduced. Whilst this visit did set me back £23 every item I purchased was reduced (I can spot an orange sticker a mile off!) On getting home I decided to calculate how much the goods I had bought would have cost if I had purchased them at full price...a staggering £60!

Surely the Co-op has to realise that if they are having to reduce that amount of stock then they are over charging? Nobody is prepared to pay their over inflated prices and would rather travel to get their shopping elsewhere. Even if you factor in fuel costs it is still cheaper.

Coleford was like a ghost town on Saturday. The Co-op is not doing any favour’s by stopping other supermarkets coming to the town. All they are doing is stopping paying customers staying in the town.
