Labour won because they had a good local candidate, they exploited the postal vote and they had overwhelming support from the Muslims.

If True Blue thinks that a Tory vote of nine per cent signals a return to a two party system then he is deluded.

UKIP are now the only alternative to Labour in many areas of northern England.

The Tories are toxic to many white working class voters in these areas.
