WE'RE grateful to Richard Clammer for this photo of the Kathleen & May beneath the old Severn Bridge and passing the Lyde Light beacon at around 12.20pm on September 1 after leaving Sharpness at high water.

The Kathleen & May, built in 1900 is the only wooden three masted sailing schooner still in existence. She was followed by the brigantine 'Phoenix' which went downriver on September 3, and the gaff rigged ketch, 'Irene' which passed by last Sunday (September 4) all heading off from the Tall Ships Festival in Gloucester.
