ST JOHN the Baptist Church in Huntley is the setting for a Christmas concert by Blaisdon’s Tan House Singers on Sunday, December 11.

A spokesperson for the choir said: “As Christmas approaches, perhaps faster than we would like, we have been working hard with our director Janet Upton, on a programme of music that is sure to lift the spirits and set the mood for the festive season.

“We offer a varied programme for you to enjoy, in partnership with organist Robin Baggs, including Laurisden’s O Magnum Mysterium, Whitacre’s Lux Aurumque and pieces by Chilcott and Vaughan Williams. We will be singing in Welsh and Spanish as well as Latin and English, with a seasoning of light-hearted pieces too. And, of course, carols and mince pies for all.”

Tickets for the performance, at 3.30pm, can be bought from choir and church members, or through the choir’s website www.tanhousesingers.org.
